Safe, Medically Supervised Detoxification
Medical detox typically lasts 3–7 days, depending on the substance and individual factors. At MHAC Rehab, our 24/7 medical team at our San Jose facility monitors your progress and adjusts treatment to keep you safe and as comfortable as possible throughout the withdrawal process.
Detox is the critical first step in recovery. Attempting to quit substances without medical supervision can be dangerous — even life-threatening for alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal. Our board-certified physicians use evidence-based protocols and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to manage symptoms effectively.

Immersive Inpatient Rehabilitation
MHAC Rehab's residential program provides 24/7 structured care in our comfortable San Jose facility, giving patients the time and support needed for deep, lasting change.
What is Residential Treatment?
Residential treatment is an immersive, live-in program lasting 30 to 90 days at our San Jose treatment campus. Patients reside at our facility full-time, receiving round-the-clock clinical support, structured therapy, and participation in a therapeutic community.
This level of care is ideal for individuals who need a stable environment free from triggers, those with severe or long-standing addictions, or anyone who has not succeeded with outpatient treatment alone.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders
At MHAC Rehab in San Jose, we understand that addiction rarely exists in isolation. Our dual diagnosis program treats both substance use and mental health conditions simultaneously for better outcomes.
What is Dual Diagnosis?
Dual diagnosis refers to the co-occurrence of a substance use disorder and a mental health condition. Research shows that nearly half of people with a substance use disorder also have a co-occurring mental health condition. Treating only one condition while ignoring the other significantly increases the risk of relapse.
MHAC Rehab's integrated approach addresses both conditions simultaneously with a team of addiction specialists, psychiatrists, and therapists working collaboratively at our San Jose facility.
Mental Health Conditions We Treat
Depression
Major depressive disorder and persistent depressive disorder alongside addiction.
Anxiety Disorders
Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorder with substance use.
PTSD & Trauma
Post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma-related conditions driving addictive behaviors.
Bipolar Disorder
Mood cycling and substance use disorder treated with specialized psychiatric care.
Our Integrated Approach
MHAC Rehab's dual diagnosis treatment combines:

Evidence-Based Psychotherapy
